Letters to Layla

Dear Layla,

How can it be that you're another month older already?  Your 4th month seems to have passed by in the blink of an eye.  I think that is because this month we have been so very happy. You, me, Daddy, Cash.  Just happy to the core.  We navigated our way through the tough newborn phase, made it through the sleepless nights, took a deep breath and found where we belong.

You seem to have changed so much this month.  You are rolling over all the time now, I can barely keep you on your back to change you.  You are trying very hard to crawl, but at this point can only manage to army crawl a little bit.  I think you are going to have a tough time moving around that big belly.  You can also sit for a few seconds on your own. You are consistantly sleeping 10-11 hours (thank you, thank you!) You're not the best napper and will only give me about 30-45 minute naps during the day.  But that is because you have so much to explore.  You are a do-er. A mover and a shaker for sure.  You are sick of being a baby and ready to get up and run.  I can tell it frustrates you that you aren't able to move around on your own.

I have known since the day you were born how much you love to eat and that certainly applies to solid foods.  So far you love your sweet potatoes and bananas and we are gradually adding more food each week.  This month you have found your voice and you aren't afraid to use it.  You discovered how to squeal and shriek and do it all day long.  Everywhere we go people say "oh she's going to be an early talker."  Like I said, your sick of being a baby!

This month you really discovered Cash.  Your face lights up when he is around and you practially throw yourself out of our arms to hug him.  With eyes wide and a huge smile you bury your hands in his fur and squeeze his jowels.  He covers you with as many kisses as I will allow and the two of you are in heaven, you love his kisses and he loves how sweet you taste. He is truly your best friend.

You don't have a Drs apt this month, so no official weigh in, but the ache in my back tells me you weigh around 20 pounds and are still around 27 inches.  You are my happy baby and that make me one happy Momma.  I can't wait to see what next month holds!

Love,
Momma

This month she was too busy for our usual shoot.

She had toys to play with...

And jumping to do...

And rolling over...

And of course love to give Cashy!
