But who are we really kidding, we all know that baby parties are for us, the grown ups. It isn't just a 1st birthday party, it’s also a celebration that we made it through our first year. We survived. We didn't 1) kill the baby 2) kill each other 3) kill ourselves. And we had a pretty awesome time figuring out how to be parents during the past year. But we couldn't have done it without you, our friends and family. You gave us love and support and advice. You brought us dinner and gifts for Layla and provided extra hands and relief when all we needed was a nap. You changed diapers, read books, played peek-a-boo and rocked her to sleep. You didn't get mad when we had to bail on yet another girls/guys night. You shared your homes and your babies with us for playdates. You offered friendship and comfort in knowing that someone else if experiencing the exact same thing as me. So this party was for you. And for us. Oh yeah, and for Layla.
One of my good friend's sister took pictures of the party for us so I wouldn't have to worry about it. That was the best idea ever because she captured so many moments and I was so busy I wouldn't have been able to. I'm going to split the pics in to two posts so it's not too overwhelming. First up is pictures of the details and friends and family. Next post will be all Layla pics.
