Letters to Layla

Dear Layla,

Another month has gone by so quickly and you continue to fill our lives with such joy!  You have changed so much in this last month becoming much more alert and active.  Mornings are your favorite time of day and are filled with smiles and coos from you.  You get this from you Dad, he's a morning person.  Momma, not so much; though your smile when I wake up is making me love mornings.

You are growing so big.  You weigh 14 pounds and are 23 inches long.  This puts you in the 97th percentile for weight and 85th for height!  You are already growing out of so many outfits!  Your Dr. is thrilled with how big you are and how well you are developing.  You are able to track people and objects with your eyes and are so interested in the world around you.  You love to be held facing the world and taking in all the new sights.  Your activity mat is your favorite thing to do, and you play on that several times a day.  You give your Momma about 5-7 hours of sleep in a row at night, we're still hoping for a solid 8 hours but this is a huge improvement from last month.

You love to take a bath and your Dad and I love giving them to you, it's our family time every night.  You are so serene in the tub.  You look up at us and coo sweetly, it's the best part of my day.  You still love the  sound of the vaccum and it puts you at ease when you are fussy.

My love for you grows every day.  I had no idea my heart could be filled with such love and happiness until I met you.  Being your Momma is such a rewarding experience and I will forever be grateful God chose me to look after you. 

I can't wait to see what the next month has in store for us, fingers crossed for a full night of sleep.
