Letters to Layla

Dear Layla,

Happy 4 months my sweet happy baby!  You have spent most of this month smiling, laughing and melting our hearts.  Wherever we go people always stop me and comment what a happy (and cute!) baby I have.  No one makes you smile quite like your Daddy.  He just has to walk into the room for your face to light up.

This month you have become much more social and love going on outings.  Every week we go to Gymboree class with about 7 other infants.  You look around at the other babies and talk to them all class long.  Two weeks ago you even reached out and held another little baby's hand.  Grammy came with us to class last week and agreed with me that you are the star of the class.  Your Dad and I are more comfortable taking you out to dinner or with friends and you are always such a good baby.

You have become quite the little water baby.  We take you to the pool almost every day and sometimes twice a day.  Every single time we take you to the pool you fall asleep in the water.  Sometimes you kick and spash and sometimes you smile, but mostly you are completely zen and relaxed.

You are still my very big girl.  We go to the Dr on Friday so I won't know your official weight until then, but I think  you are around 18-19 pounds.  You mostly wear size 9 months clothes and you are growing by the day.  You can sit up on your own for a few seconds and pull yourself into sitting position all day long.  You can almost roll over, you just can't figure out how to get that arm out from underneath you.  This month we had a little set back with your sleeping when you got too big to swaddle and you had a hard time adjusting to sleeping with your arms free.  Then Grammy spent a few nights and offered a little tough love through the night and we got you back on track!  Now you are sleeping 10-12 hours a night.

This month with has been so much fun!  You and I are best friends and make each other laugh and smile all day long.  I'm already so proud of all your accomplishments and I can't wait to see what you learn next month.

Love, Momma

Look at the big girl sitting in her chair!

Cash saw my hands were occupied and went in for the kiss.

"Enough pictures."
